ARTX and ARTT are the subcategories with the Department of Studio Arts that invite students from distinct disciplines to come together in an arena of exchange in either studio based or theoretical consideration.

ARTX is a cluster of studio courses that specifically encourage interdisciplinarity. They are designed to familiarize students with contemporary art practice and theory in its diverse manifestations. Here students are encouraged to question the boundaries of traditional art disciplines and engage the creative potential of transdisciplinary studio practice. From performance and site specificity, to sound and video, the approach privileges criticality over technical expertise and encourages a discursive approach.

ARTT is a series of seminar courses that provide the opportunity for students of various studio practices to discuss changing issues in theory/practice. Visual material, directed readings, exhibition visits, and invited speakers will be determined by each special topic selected in relation to contemporary lines of inquiry within artistic practice today.
