The Department of Studio Arts has a long and distinguished history of developing innovative talent. This tradition of innovation comes from being aware of the world we live in, socially, economically and ideologically.
At the current centre of our ever changing world sits a new understanding of academic research that values the distinct methodologies artists embrace in making. When this kind of knowledge is aligned with new technologies in both their applications and development, anything can happen. Studio Arts values the role that this sort of academic and studio environment can play in expanding our sense of what is possible.
Studio Arts faculty members are passionate about their field of study and are active participants in Concordia's research community.
It's no accident that Montreal is called a city of creators. The activities of our faculty, students, staff and alumni invigorate and enrich the rich cultural scene in Quebec and Canada.
