Independent study

Students that have successfully completed at least 48 credits in their current degree program as well as one previous or concurrent completion of a 400-level course in said degree program, may be eligible for Independent Study options.

Independent study is intended for the highly motivated student with a proven history of successful development within their practice and that have a distinct project that cannot be satisfied by the already individually driven studio classes. Students must develop a program of study that outlines their project in a clearly defined way, and, must make a formal agreement with a full-time faculty member only.

To apply for an independent study, follow the instructions on the Independent Study Request form and return the completed and signed form to the Studio Arts Office (VA 250).
